Not OP, but English speaking fandoms for Japanese dramas tend to be pretty small in general and the fic writing portions of those fandoms is even smaller still.

Did you ever watch Kamen Rider Kabuto, by any chance? He was the main character in that. He's been in several other dramas/movies as well, but not video games as far as I know.

J-Drama fic is really, really rare and fandom tends to be attached to the actors, not the material.

That's the case with the majority of non-American TV series, unfortunately. As for Tokyo Dogs in specific, I know someone nominated it for Yuletide once -- I excitedly offered it, but in the end there was no actual request.

Because fic is, for the most part, something that mainly English-speaking fandoms do, and the English-speaking fandom for this is small. That's just the way fandom works.

(There are no doubt exceptions to this, but for the most part it's true.)

Sadly it seems that J-dramas in general don't really get much fic, except for the really popular ones like Nobuta, and even then fic is pretty rare. You'd think the combination of Mizushima and Shun would attract more fangirls, though...

Anyway, maybe I'm alone here but when I watched that drama I rather wanted to see threesome fic with those two and the girl (Yoshitaka Yuriko's character). If I ever watch it again I may have to write that to make up for the lack of fic.

But like everyone has said, fanfic in English is pretty much non-existent for Japanese dramas. I'm not even sure there are fics in Japanese either.
And Japanese dramas short duration with only 11 eps doesn't really encourage people to invest much in the characters, IMO.

No promises, OP, but I'd potentially be interested in writing fic in this fandom; it looks intriguing. Any tips on where I could find the drama English subbed? My usual sources aren't turning up anything. (In desperation I even searched Amazon and found one not-too-expensive copy, but the seller's notes read, "with Average English Subs. May not seem average due to other people's view, dont purchase if you dislike," which doesn't exactly inspire confidence.)

Wasn't this on a while ago, anyway? I'm not surprised there isn't a lot going on, fic-wise. If there isn't a lot to begin with, there generally isn't much this long after the show aired.

It seemed like the writers might have been influenced by Burn Notice. That was the feeling I got from it. Particularly for his mother...and I know there was other stuff too, but it's been so long since I watched it.
