I like the movie, but I can honestly see why some people really don't. I will admit I liked it a little less after seeing the first National Lampoons movie, because it felt like a darker ripoff tbh. Not sure if that was intentional though...

That's a very intriguing take, because I actually saw the first National Lampoon's long before I saw Little Miss Sunshine, and I didn't draw any parallels apart from "family road trip."

I'd be interested to hear more about your view if you'd care to expound on it.

Basically they use a lot of the same ploys. True, many are general "family vacation" ploys, but some are very specific.

ETA: I realize cracked.com is a parody site (well - sort of), but I still think they have a point there. :P
