"cave to sjws?" Hussie was the guy who put forth the idea of the characters being "aracial" in the first place.

you're right, but he changed the wording in that one panel in response to outcry over the post he made regarding his intent that the kids were all aracial. he shouldn't have had to. he shouldn't have had people accusing him of racism or ~whitewashing in the first place.

And clearly the racist fuck didn't mean it.

The irony of statements like these is that, whenever white people try to write non-white people, you folks start accusing them of "appropriating."

I guess, to you, racism really means "white people writing shit."

Only after a ton of people kept throwing shit fits about the comic having "too many white characters."

The tarot cards that were included in some of the packages for kickstarter donaters were drawn by a bunch of artists, and some of them had the kids with darker skin. Iirc, people got mad because they're supposed to be aracial in canon (or...white, I'm not sure what their complaint was) and this was like making it canon that they had a skin color or something. ...I'm probably getting this wrong lol.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of them did that, but most of what I saw involved people making a fuss about the fact that even though Hussie has said they are aracial, a lot of artists drew the humans looking white. Hussie then apparently, quietly told the artists that they have the option to redraw their assigned cards to add diversity if they wanted.

Admittedly, some of the new art looks pretty good (partly also because the original art was prepared about a year earlier). But at least one of the cards actually drew the humans as literally white, like their sprites, which the artist ended up redrawing anyway and that kind of puzzled me.

Yeah, that's closer than what I remembered. I was thinking it was people who were anti-racial diversity who were starting the wank.

It wasn't hussie though, it was the guy in charge of the tarot stuff.

He was being a lot more reasonable then both sides took it, unsurprisingly.

But some people complained because there was no alternate inteprestations.

The guy who ran the whole thing said "Okay, tell you what folks. I'ma let anybody who wants to redo their cards go for it. No pressure though, just if you want."

Other people said "aw what the fuck, you are tampering with this thing just cause of pressure?" Or "Aw fuck, like tokenism makes things better" then people said "why not, you racist or something?" and of course clusterfuck ensued.

In the end, I don't think there was all that many that opted to change (and some of the changes weren't even of any of the human kinds and thus were removed from the debate entirely. Though in the few instances I saw, I tended to like the cards better, because frankly the art was better period.
