Another childish aspect could be your attraction to seeing the economic system get torn down completely. Almost like toppling a tower of blocks.

Hmm but I think you're assuming a lot about my motivation and reactions. It is interesting how much people assume based on small amounts of data. No real assumption is necessarily wrong, but neither are they right. Fun!

Well, let's make some more assumptions!

You have a big mountain of debt, right? And a lot of young people in the U.S. (I'm assuming that you're young and living in the U.S.) have gotten their big mountains of debt from school loans. That's completely understandable. I have student loan debt, too. Unfortunately, your mountain is so deep that you've contemplated killing yourself, which is horrible -- no one should ever have to think of suicide in the face of debts, and I'm sure that there are people who would be devastated by your death. I really, truly hope that you aren't considering it anymore.

So, for what did you go to school? You must have had some kind of career in mind, but for some reason (the terrible economy, few job openings, sudden tragic events) you haven't been able to make your way to that career. Things look entirely hopeless. The future holds nothing but debt and toil to ease that debt. And the U.S. economy may still well collapse.

In this case, can we not say that it is a reasonable assumption that a young, desperate person with little hope for the future might feel the irrational desire to see the economy come crashing down, like a tower of blocks, offering the chance to be built anew?
