Oh god, me too. I don't think it bothered me all that much when I first saw the episode, but then I got to thinking about it, and it baffled me that there is such a candid shot when it's a fucking painting. You'd think the royal painters would want even the royal babies to look dignified.

Maybe his mother wanted a cute baby painting of fluffy candidness. It's a fucking painting: it doesn't have to reflect reality any more than a photo does. How do you think other paintings show action scenes? Do you think every element of all paintings were actually posed right in front of the painter the entire time they were working?
