In a "real world" zombie invasion, I would be toast. But if I had to live in "movie type" zombification, I have two options: die first, or be the Sole Survivor/Final Girl type.

Honestly, I think pretty much everyone in a "real world" zombie apocalypse would zombie-fied. I mean sleep, food, and everyone you know being zombies, along with it being that way for the rest of your life, odds really aren't in your favor. Sorry.

That being said, movie scenario, I'd still die.

But, people have guns, vehicles, and brains.

In a 'real world' zombie apocalypse, we would just hilariously fuck them up.

We can punch holes in battleships half a world away - slowly (or even quick on their feet) and slightly more durable doesn't mean much against even angry mobs, let alone modern police forces and militaries.

Interesting fact, someone actually did a mathematical model to figure out the best means of surviving an actual zombie apocalypse (based on the more modern interpretation of a zombie) and found out that surviving humans would basically have to attack hard and often and kill as many zombies as possible. They also found it would be highly unlikely that people would be able to manage it, given it would take really frequent attacks and the ability to muster enough weapons and resources before the zombies spread to unmanageable levels. Once they hit a certain point, there would just be too many of them and everyone would die.

I just kind of love that people took the time to make a mathematical model of this stuff. I also love that the CDC has a Zombie Preparedness guide up. Lol.

Anyone who honestly thinks that dead people who can be dispatched via head trauma are a match for modern day law enforcement and military are being ridiculous. The only way you'd get to zombie apocalypse status is if it involved a highly contagious lethal disease, at which point the zombies are the least of your problem.

Except not everywhere has well-organized law enforcement or military in place, and even if they do, there are still a lot of places in the world that aren't really equipped with handling emergency situations.

Sad to say I expect it will be every place for itself with people protecting their borders and so those countries will end up left to their own devices and the zombies only dealt with when they stray too near. And if it's an island like Britain or Australia then protecting against an infestation there wouldn't be too hard.

I, too, would totally fucking die in both real and movie Zombie Apocalypses. I would also die in any other given horror movie. Like, the first one to go. The one that dies so that everyone can go go "OH SHIT SOMETHING BAD'S HAPPENING".

It's okay, though. I've come to terms with my role as the redshirt. But the rest of you guys had better save my cats.
