RE: not!secret

Nice, you totally missed my point. You're actually someone I like in fandom (sorry, domain gave it away). My point in the original secret was that people who only jump from popular stuff to popular stuff without even trying to reach farther out suck. I can't fathom someone that likes those popular shounen series can't find something else to like that isn't a fandom darling.

You were not my target - I mean, you write FFIV, Shadow Hearts, Utena and FFT fic. You can reach out farther than Adult Swim and whatever Electronics Boutique chooses to pimp.

Sorry, cannot be bothered to use anonymous image hosting. YOU NEVER WOULD HAVE KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE IF I HADN'T BEEN ARBITRARILY MARKED DOWN FOR NON-SECRETNESS.

Alas, you have missed my point as well. Popularity may not equal quality, but that by logic it's no indicator of anything beyond availability. Long shounen series are very likely to be picked up by American distributors. Some of them are good, some of them are bad. The exact same thing is true of obscure stuff.

Sometimes things are popular because they are good. Stranger things have happened.
