Yeah, I also found those two a borefest. I love his ideas and I ended up reading a lot of his books because the premises sounded nice, but I can never get into the writing itself. And his main male adult characters are kinda bland and almost exchangeable too. I think Gaiman's best novels are actually the ones for children (Coraline, The Graveyard Book...), go figure.

I found Neverwhere very 'meh' but I loved The Graveyard Book. You may be onto something.

Gosh, I'm sorry, but I don't physically understand how anyone can think Shadow and Wednesday are in any way bland and exchangeable... I mean, out of pure interest (and not being wanky or anything here, I really am curious), how does anyone get these characters mixed up? I don't even see the blandness... I am quite honestly baffled.

(I sort of agree about Graveyard Book though, that is bloody brilliant).
