The novel's ending depresses the fuck out of me. Like, I love his writing, but the happy ending of the movie makes me so happy.

It's just like "wow, you had this great story, why are you continuing it? Oh. Oh, I see. That's why. to make it depressing as fuck."

The movie is seriously the best. I love it so much. <3

I love that movie way too much; it's one of my two most underrated movies. It's charming, sweet, and I really enjoyed Tristan and Yvaine's relationship. Especially since they made it sweet and happy instead of depressing.

I got my parents to watch it, even though they tend to dislike fantasy, and they had so much fun it was hilarious. :)

I read the book less than a year ago and I don't even remember the ending, that's how little an impression Stardust made on me.

yeah, the whole "make it depressing!" ending just seems so try-hard in that novel too :\
