The idea does sound nice, but I think it's just going to bring out wank as fans compete for "best fanfic" and review spamming fanfics to being them up to the recommended list.

But DAMMIT! I wish something like this existed!

Folks in this thread could get together to start the comm and tag-team mod it. I'd go there.

I'm a mod on a huge anon comm, but the load's pretty light because there are a lot of us. It can be done, and I hope you do it, OP. A few simple ground rules (no personal attacks, for starters), a freeze-button and a banhammer, and you're good to go. Yes, you'll have trolls and wank, but you'll also have what you want, I think. You'll just need help.
