Mockingbird Lane was soooo good. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did (or at all actually), and I'm incredibly disappointed that it's not likely to get a proper season.

I have no idea what the ratings are like but I hope it gets a second season just because the Munsters were amazing, and maybe with another season they'll do something special with it.

The way OP worded the secret made me think there was a chance the show could be renewed, and renewed usually implies a first season, so...

Is there a fandom? I guess there must not be much of one if there was only a special.

History time! It was supposed to be a remake. HOWEVER they decided it was a bad idea and scrapped it, instead turning the footage they did have into a Halloween special.

I see! A series sounds like a good idea to me (if done right, anyway), but maybe TPTB figured viewers wouldn't show up for it.

As much as I loved the original (and even the Munsters Today remake back in the early 90s) I loved this remake for the fact that it was darker and more serious.

Dissenting Point of View

To each his own I guess. I saw it and thought it was pretty bland. It's like they wanted to go on a darker version, but wanted it to be family friendly or something so you get live animal death one moment and sappy "I love so much my heart literally breaks :'(" the next. Grandpa was good, Marilyn was good to offset Grandpa, but the rest were forgettable. I was also disappointed that they didn't keep the "We think of ourselves as normal and everybody else is strange" angle of the original except for Grandpa. The CGI was really really bad in places and they spent a lot of time lovingly focusing on it. They used outside shots of the house so many times I was waiting for some sort of joke to happen in the background or for the house itself to come alive.
I definitely wouldn't have thought it took 10 million dollars to make.

I want this to be renewed because I love Eddie Izzard! He was great. And actually it was pretty good as a show, I thought. So they should renew it!
