Heh. At my sister-in-law's 30th birthday party, I was feeling kind of awkward amidst the party people... so I decided on a whim that for her birthday? I was building her a blanket fort right there in the living room. (Plus, I could then hide in it.) Not only was she tickled by this, a couple of the guys joined in to help hang blankets where my short little self couldn't reach, and large portions of the rest of the party took place inside the fort. It was a great bonding experience.

tl;dr: Blanket forts are awesome, and not nearly so often inappropriate as one might think.

No, I give my Sims legit book titles. One of my sims actually became a successful director AND a published author. Man, I'd be so happy if that happened to me.

I also don't read/write fanfiction. I don't have the attention span.

I don't think being able to see your kinks asserting themselves (in retrospect) in innocent looking kids literature, is that unusual an experience. Kids are sexual, even if they aren't sexually active. I have the same kinks I always had, more or less. They've just gotten more play as I got older. Much older.

Seriously. That scene in Disney's Robin Hood where Prince John makes Sir Hiss stand still so he can hit him, and then Sir Hiss mumbles "thank you" made me *intensely* embarrassed and *intensely* turned on when I was all of about five years old. I had no idea what was going on, but it was fascinating, secret fun.

I know a lot of opinions differ on this but I don't think you're obligated to answer reviews. Reviews are an answer to your posting the fic. They are there to let you know someone read and liked the story and their thoughts on it. So I really don't think you need to feel guilty about it. Tho I know guilt is often illogical.

There are people who like the movie more than the show, really? Wow. I watched it right after finishing the show, which I thought was brilliant, and was blown away by how astonishingly terrible the movie was. The first two thirds were a sexed-up, dumbed-down, dubiously coherent retelling of the show's story, and the last third just utterly drifted off into lalaland. So disappointing after watching the series. But tastes differ I guess, people like different things!

I know how you feel, OP. I did a holiday exchange a few years back. Slaved to make this fic awesome for my person. Never got a single comment or acknowledgment that I'd written it. And I never got anything from the person who had my name.

If you're gonna sign onto something like that, properly commit. Or at least let it be known that you can't do it for whatever reason. Leaving people hanging is not cool.

I think it's worse in your case cuz the person had committed to doing something for charity.
