But if you're viewing my stuff on livejournal, the My Stats/My Guests feature means I know exactly who is reading and not reviewing. I don't bother remembering those names, but I could. It's a nice little tool if someone wanted to be a dick. :/

That feature right there is why I don't log in to LJ when I read fic. If I don't have anything nice to say I'm not going to say anything, and the last thing I need is someone looking at my username on the list of hits and thinking I'm a lazyass or entitled because I didn't leave a comment.

The simple fact is I'm neither lazy nor entitled, I just don't leave critical comments unless I feel like getting dogpiled that day (note: I never feel like getting dogpiled).

Then opt out of My Guests.
But maybe you like to know who is lazyass or entitled when they visit your LJ.

They can't see who you are unless you are opted IN to MyGuests. It can't track your presence unless you have it enabled, no matter what some troll may tell you.

I find it creepy and have never opted in.

Good to know, since I opted out of that feature the minute it became available. IDGAF who is looking at my journal, and I don't want people knowing when and how often I look at theirs. It definitely has a creepy, stalker-like feel to it.

Unless they've changed it, you only know the people who have that feature turned on. When I had an LJ I turned that off. It meant I couldn't see who visited my site, but the upside was nobody could see when I was visiting theirs either.

I mean your point still stands that those people are visiting your site and not commenting. But then how do you know they're even reading? I visit a lot of sites, click the link to see summaries or whatever, then leave without actually reading the fic if it's not to my interest.

Anon... people who read you fic don't "owe" you reviews. They don't owe you a single damn thing.

You're displaying the exact same entitlement the OP is talking about, plus an extra layer of creepy.
