Why, yes, yes I do. But also...

I've got a whole bunch of fandom characters saved in CAS, so sometimes when I've got a story in mind but don't have a clear idea of the hero's appearance, I start with a fandom character as a base and just tweak their coloring and hairstyle and such to get my new character. I like to leave little references to the fandom character, though, like their favorite color or food, and then if they write books, the titles all reference the character as well. It's like my own private in-joke.
