It's possible. But it's also possible people are just jackasses.

And the problem with 'here's where you fic isn't any good' is that all too often, people inject their own preferences and wants into their critique, instead of actually *critiquing*. I know i do, which is why i don't beta at all.

What it boils down to is - people want someone to say 'wow, i liked that!' It's why they post, it's why they *continue* to post. It's not being 'entitled' to hope that your work is noticed and maybe praised. It's human nature.
