I've been posting fanfic for more than 15 years, and I have never understood the entitled attitudes of some writers. To be honest, I have no idea what the view counts on anything I've ever posted are. Like, I write and throw it out there, and if I get comments or kudos, I'm always pleasantly surprised and happy. But if I post something and don't get a lot of feedback, that's okay too, and I'm certainly not watching the view count go up and working myself up over the fact that people are reading without reviewing. I write because I have a story I want to get out there. If people read it and like it, yay! If people read it and don't like it or just don't have anything to say about it, that's fine! I already accomplished what I set out to do by writing something, and anything that comes after is just a bonus and not expected or necessary.
