I thought as much.

Of course it doesn't make you obligated in any way if you didn't like it. But if everybody thinks like you do, it doesn't help anyone. Neiter the authors who stop writing eventually bc nobody (it seems) is interested to read their fic, nor the readers themselfs who complain that there isn't more fic for their fandom anymore. Everything they ask is to know if you liked it or not. It's everything they get for hours, days or weeks of work. And you are seriously telling me that this is too much to ask for? Because you've agreed to no contract as you clicked on 'read more'? Oh boy..

I don't know about you, but I write because I love writing, not because my crippled self-esteem is hobbling from one dribble of a stranger's attention to the next.

Good for you. Newsflash: not all people are the same. Some write for themselves. Some write for the feedback. Some write for themselves and post for the feedback. No one is doing it wrong.
