I mostly agree with you - I once left a mildly negative review (which I thought was warranted), and the author had a complete meltdown. Now if I don't have something nice to say, I don't say anything, unless I *know* the author actually wants concrit.

But the difference is, that you actually do leave kudos when you like the story.

THat's not the same as people who say I never reply to anything, because I don't owe the authors anything, and to want feedback is somehow omg!entitlement. I think it's only human to want some feedback. It's entitlement to *demand* it. And I don't see the author in this secret demanding it.
