Ah, yeah, that's even worse. I haven't actually read the whole thing (I honestly couldn't get past the first few pages of the writing), just summaries and analyses and some individual scenes from the book.

It's pretty horrible. Save yourself the trouble of reading it. I am and it's just awful.

There's a lot of creepy non-sexual crap in it as well, a lot of which bothers me more than the sex. He tracks her cell phone signal to know where she is at all times, shows up out of the blue at her place of work 100 miles away, and that's even before they become a couple. He later buys her a new car because he gets suddenly obsessed with the idea that her driving her old VW Bug is dangerous, and when she objects he dangles the promise of a relationship more like what she wants as a carrot in front of her to get her to accept it. He writes in an email, "Don't drive your Beetle. I'll know if you do." I had a pretty visceral FUCK YOU reaction to that part.

Not to mention she does try to leave the relationship and he basically tracks her down and forces her back into it.

This guy who is a millionair and can basically buy off everyone and everything in her life.

That was the creepiest part. I'm thinking he put a GPS tracker under the seat. I know if someone said that to me* I'd be taking it to a body shop and asking them to check it for bugs.

*with the exception of my parents, who own the vehicle that I drive when I'm home and generally are the only people who get to order me around like that
