ah, ok. I was going to ask what it was against lol.

That's interesting. I had hepatitis vaccines, rabies, measles, etc etc, I don't remember all of them. I actually don't know if I've had a meningitis vaccine but if I haven't then I should 0_0

Yeah I figured I should add that, in case I was wrong on the English name for the vaccine...

I have so manny vaccines in me I've lost count, *google it* 11 vaccines from the age of three months and until I was 16, quite a few of those vaccines where combinations against more than one disease...

They have actually started vaccinating teenage girls in Norway with the HPV vaccine (which reminds me I should probably talk to my doctor about that one.) again through school.

Edit: figured out the site had a English twin:
Childhood Immunisation Programme
The Norwegian childhood immunisation programme began in 1952 and now recommends that all children should be vaccinated against ten different diseases:

DTP combination vaccine against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough)
Hib vaccine against Haemophilus influenzae type b infection
Vaccination against pneumococcal disease
Vaccination against poliomyelitis
MMR combination vaccine against measles, mumps and rubella

And if you are curious: http://www.fhi.no/eway/default.aspx?pid=233&trg=Area_5774&MainArea_5661=6039:0:15,4576:1:0:0:::0:0&MainLeft_6039=5774:0:15,4576:1:0:0:::0:0&Area_5774=5544:87519::1:5776:1:::0:0

Wow that was a long link...

I definitely recognize some of those - I know I had the MMR, for example. I should look up to see which ones are required/recommended in the US. and also Wiki those diseases I don't recognize...

I would totally look at that link but now I have to work on a project =( perhaps later! Medical stuff like this is really interesting to me

Also, now that you mention it, I also had the HPV done. I wasn't sure why my mom insisted I get it done since I wasn't (and still am not) sexually active, but at least I have it now juuuuust in case, I guess.

Most of them are recommended worldwide... So you should have most of them depending on your parents I guess? As I understand it the American coverage of vaccinated citizens are lower than the Norwegian one (over 9 out of 10 are fully vaccinated here, but we don't have the same fear of vaccines as I understand some communities in the US got? I might be wrong, but I think I read something like that somewhere...)

Medical stuff is awesome, and sinse I kinda gave you the wrong link (or not the one I wanted to, both are valid,) you can have the other one and look it up when you got time: http://www.fhi.no/eway/default.aspx?pid=238&trg=Area_5954&MainArea_5811=5895:0:15,2825:1:0:0:::0:0&MainLeft_5895=5954:0:15,2825:1:0:0:::0:0&Area_5954=5825:90915::1:5955:1:::0:0

Btw it is the web page of the Norwegian health institute so if you are interested in Norwegian medical stuff you don't need to look further, and it seems like most of it is translated.

I really should get it, I was just too old when it got put into use (2009 and for 14 year olds, I was 19 then). I'm vaccinated against TB I don't think I've ever heard about anyone getting TB, so just in case is always good. I am sexually active so I should get it, I'm just lazy and/or forgetful.

Edit: good luck on your project! What's it about? (And I actually finished writing my group project between replying to you.)

Yeah, some Americans are wary of vaccines, but afaik most people do get them? Maybe it varies with states, communities, etc. I know for some places (like high schools/colleges) you have to have them - my college's health center actually sent me a letter telling me I didn't have all my required vaccination. (I actually did have them - someone just sucks at record keeping I guess lol)

heh, yeah, you probably should get it! Good luck getting that taken care of.

It's a study on tree biodiversity in forest interiors v. forest edges. Data analyzing and writing the paper is definitely not as much fun as going out into the woods to collect our data was lol

I dunno, just. Feeling I've got from different stuff. But I can off course be wrong, it is your country so you know better! But really? Schools now your medical stuff? Why?

I'll see, I'll probably forget.

What on earth do you study?

Schools know your medical stuff I guess because when you have lots of people smushed into one place for an extended period of time it's a public health issue - they want to make sure nobody gets sick. If you're not vaccinated you could carry a disease that is dangerous not only for you but for others.

I'm a biology major. My concentration is zoology but the class I'm taking right now is a basic required course about ecology. I haven't taken any animal-centric classes yet...hopefully next semester!

Huh, weird... I've never been asked about my medical information.

That sounds pretty cool! (and wow you study something a lot more difficult than I do)

I mean, I don't know...I'm a bad student mainly because of bad habits, so I'm not sure how challenging it actually is, really.

What do you study?

You do, I study something half the people on f!s could do without books...

I'm getting a bachelor in Film and Television studies (and I will start with a joint bachelor in Project and Leadership, and take at least one masters degree)
