Still haven't gotten over WTF-ing over season 6 of Doctor Who. WTF.

I will never stop WTFing @ the recent season of Doctor Who. There's convoluted plots, and then there's whatever the fuck has been going on over there for the past couple years.

I haven't seen series 7 yet, but I spent almost every episode of series 6 whimpering "what" every ten minutes.

I just finished season 5 and now I'm a little afraid to start season 6 because of all the times I've heard people complain about it. :(

Can someone please give me a vague idea of what type of crappiness happened in a non-spoilery manner so I know what to expect? I just want to know if Amy and Rory stay together exactly what kinds of flaws they were, because I can roll with some kinds better than others.

They break up for one episode for a nonsensical bullshit reason related to the stuff in season 6, but they're all fine again by the episode's end.

To be as non-spoilery as possible, the problems with season 6 are basically: really, really, really convoluted, confusing, OTT "mysterious", "suspenseful" storyarc full of twists and fakeouts that completely ruins the serialized adventure-of-the-week format, lots of infuriating sexism with a special focus on women-have-magical-uteruses bullshit, soap opera-esque dysfunctional family stuff, the Ponds having fifty different kinds of angst thrown at them without any of it getting any proper processing or follow-up, about ten times as much River Song-related screwiness as season 5, River Song being Magical Jesus Of Space And Time With Boobs, this running gag that goes "gasp omg Amy's been fucking the Doctor OH NO WAIT SHE LOVES RORY LIEK WHOA ISN'T THAT ADORBS HAHAHAHA I TRICKED YOU SO GOOD I'M SO CLEVER" that was cute in a corny way the first time and annoying and predictable the next five times, and some really self-indulgent Narmy bullshit that takes itself way too seriously.

It's got some really amazing parts, and sometimes those parts span almost an entire episode (The Doctor's Wife = one of my favorite episodes ever) but the overall plot....ugh. *shakes head* just...why.

MTE. I've almost given up on Doctor Who, which is sad because I loved it so much. But yeah, still shaking my head at season 6, and might not watch it until Moffat leaves (except for the Neil Gaiman episode).
