Apparently a majority of the students my department thought I was a lesbian because I wear my nails very very short. There were other factors, but that apparently was what "convinced" them. I do like women to some degree, but I have never told any of them and never wanted to; and I have no interest in being intimate with anyone of any gender. (Not ace, just celibate.)

But yeah, learning that my sexuality is a topic of conversation behind my back is pretty appalling.

I found out from a drunk coworker that pretty much everyone in my office thought I was a lesbian because I didn't flirt with "the hot guy." Apparently everyone did, so I must not be interested in guys. Because he can't just not be my type or something.
