I don't think the producers matter. There comes a point that even making fun of a racist genre becomes something that can influence.

Lupe Fiasco perhaps explains better. Pay attention not only to the lyrics, but also the video footage

I agree, but this isn't necessarily a bad show.

Honestly, the problem is that it's on Adult Swim and watched by a bunch of socially broken nerds. If this was on another channel it wouldn't be so risky.

The funny thing is this my best friend's favorite show. He's dark-skinned (Jamaican) but doesn't consider himself "Black" (he's gone on at length about this, I guess), but he'll act the part for irony's sake. We get a kick out of it. I call him nigga, he calls me nigga, he thinks racism is pretty funny, etc etc etc.

And we get a kick out of this show because it's so over the top and nonsensical and Black Dynamite's always got that serious expression. The show's just funny. I don't even really think about their skin color or perceived subculture. I watch it because it makes me laugh.

(I guess for shame on me, little white girl with black best friend who both enjoy racial caricatures?)
