Re: Anyone else have things they're pissed off about but not for the reasons people think?
Along the same line, I'm not interested in kids either. People automatically assume that you're just being rebellious and 'you'll change your mind~ teehee'.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-20 03:50 am (UTC)(link)Hello.
I knew I didn't want to bear children when I was a little girl. I wasn't interested in babies. I didn't play with dolls.
As I got older, I still wasn't interested in babies. I didn't want to hold them. Or coo at them. Once they get past that gooey, sticky stage, and could run and talk and play, they are...tolerable.
I got married, and warned my husband, "Not interested in babies. If you want babies, find another wife." He was cool with it for the first couple of years, then started making, "Aren't babies cute?" noises. I said, "Remember, I told you no kids." He got all pissy for a while, but I stuck to my guns, knowing that if I did get pregnant, I'd be miserable, and he'd make it worse. We divorced a couple of years after that, making me even happier I'd not agreed to kids.
So. No. No babies. No changing of my mind.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-20 10:10 am (UTC)(link)It really annoys me when older relatives try and convince us that we should have kids - we've been married for a while now, so the 'when are you going to have children' question is getting more and more frequent. And apparently 'never' is not an acceptable answer.
