But no-one ever thinks I'm a lesbian. People assume I'm asexual before they think "oh she must be gay" and I'm just what???????

I basically dread this because it means I am repeatedly 'coming out' to people and it drives me nuts.

I don't get it, either! It seems like straight women have people assume they're gay all the time, but no one has ever openly assumed I'm anything other than a straight, cis woman. I have a masculine haircut, I don't wear makeup, and I have a pretty androgynous style. Don't get me wrong--I think making assumptions about people's sexuality based on hair length is really stupid. But I feel like I must be doing something wrong....

i keep hoping they'll just ask casually "so you got a boyfriend or girlfriend?" or get curious and ask so i'm not awkwardly "YOU KNOW I"M GY RIGHT WELL NOW YOU DO"

and then i can casually just say "no, no girlfriend"

problem solved.

but noooooooo, i must be asexual???? how do people even get this. i comment when i see a nice girl. does male disinterest = not sexual at all or??
