I'm sort of glad I'm not working it this year. I've worked it two years and a row and just, bah. It's so insane how people run into the store and push by people. Last year my store needed to have cops around the registers to tell people to slow down. I spent all morning at work (I had to be there at four or be fired, so I took a bus at eleven pm on Thanksgiving and waited until the store opened at midnight.) And customers who come in hours after it open are so rude about door buster items being gone. I mean...did you really think they'd still be there five/six hours later?

I'm sorry you had to be subjected to that madness anon. And it's good that you don't have to go through that hell again this year!

I've only been shopping on Black Friday once, and it was pretty tame. We stood in line for four or five hours but no one got rowdy or anything. There was no need for cops. That was years ago though, and I haven't been back since. (Don't want to either, especially when I could rather shop online.)

I'll never understand the need to be violent over a sale... People should get their priorities in check! And be polite! I doubt anyone working Black Friday actually wants to be, but it can be a necessity. :/ (And of COURSE the items wouldn't still be there after that long. I don't get some people...)

jk. My store is doing a BF sale too, to mimic our original American counterparts. I know things get hectic during boxing day, and that's just over leftovers really. AUGH customers.
