Man, fuck Roseart crayons. Roseart crayons suck. I'd sooner use cheapo restaurant crayons from the Olive Garden, and those only come in four colors.

I love pretty much every present I get from everybody, but the weirdest present I ever got was one of those weird spiral pens. My stepmother gave it to me for Christmas when I was, like, 17 (and it was the only present she gave me that year). She never puts any thought into what she gets me anyway, because she doesn't like me, but at least she usually gets me something useful, like a sweater or a scarf.

But the random buzzy spiral pen... yeah, I never used that, because I hate writing with pens. (I prefer mechanical pencils.)

I know! My mom got upset because she thought I was playing martyr in lieu of throwing a fit about not getting my way because I wouldn't accept a roseart substitute. But I just couldn't face the thought of the mockery using Roseart would feel like.

That's pretty funny, sorry! It sounds like something she picked up last second in a checkout aisle. I really wonder what she thought you'd take it to mean.

She probably did pick it up at the corner store.

Probably my dad told her I like writing, so she just grabbed whatever writing utensil was closest to the register and called it a day (forgetting that, even then, I had my own computer and typed most of my bullshit rather than writing it down--writing by hand hurts my wrist).

The really odd thing is that my stepdad does kind of the same thing--he buys all my Christmas and birthday presents at the Walgreens where he gets my stepbrother's allergy meds, but he actually DOES like me and puts thought into what kinds of silly things to buy me. He even knows what kinds of terrible books I like to make fun of, so he buys me those and tells me to have a good laugh (and I usually do--the most recent one was some bizarre Twilight knockoff about alchemy vampires and magic vampire tattoos).
