Honestly I blame it on the fact that in my handwriting, 'd' and 'cl' look very similar, if not so identical that I have to guess from context what I actually meant, so my brain is already predisposed to thinking 'cl' is actually 'd'. So. Yeah. XD

also my mind is solidly in the gutter

OP must be an avid reader.

you're not the only one. I was reminded of the magic healing dick secret. http://i.imgur.com/0s1BQ.png

I will not attempt to drag myself to the finish line of NaNo this year by taking the term 'healing cock' to its illogical conclusion, I will not, I will not, I will... write down this as a possible healer ability and giggle maniacally.

British English is preferred in Argetina (and I think that in South America in general) and it is the default English taught in schools. Generally, American English courses are reserved for fast, specific studies (especially businessmen/woman learning how to communicate) while people who study English to have it as a second/third language get British English (which tends to include taking Cambridge tests). Then again, Argentina has old and deep links to the United Kingdom.

OH MY GOD YOU REMEMBERED MY COMMENT

(Anonymous) 2012-11-22 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't believe you remembered my comment verbatim. It's close enough I'm six kinds of tickled *vgb*. For those of you who are curious, here is the thread (http://fandomsecrets.dreamwidth.org/694361.html?thread=593868633#cmt593868633) where I egged the seagull!Anon on and here is the seagull and switch-flipping (http://fandomsecrets.dreamwidth.org/699773.html?thread=596358781) secret thread.

Just for the record, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL TOO ANON! :D

Epic seagull saga, anyone writing it?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-22 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Just so you know, as an American we call the continents South America and North America. Both together are called the Americas (but it's hardly ever used except for biological history, like Eurasia). So if someone was Brazilian and said they were South American, or from the Americas we wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Other countries teach that both North and South America are America, so they've grown up with different preconceived ideas of what an American is than we have.

I'm not going to change my version simply to please a few people on the internet that I'll never interact with in real life and I wouldn't expect you to change yours.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the lack of cringe comedy involved.

I mean, characters *do* make mistakes sometimes, but the mistakes they make are actually a part of their character growth, and are valid, real mistakes they make, especially in the context of the movie. They are all serious, and know what they're doing, it's great!

If you see, please let me know what you thought! No one in my real life has seen it, and I really would love to talk to people about it. :D

Has it been long enough for me to start a kinkmeme without seeming too weird?

Re: What's your height?

[personal profile] ill_omened 2012-11-22 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
6"7'.

The irony is I hit 6"6' by sixteen, and then just pretty much stayed there. Disappointed, would have liked at least a couple more inches - six nine seems like it'd be the perfect height just before moving into super freak territory.

Actually, I remember now. It was June 26. You were way off on your dates. What notes are you using?

I dunno, there's a lot of raeg in some quarters of the fandom over suggesting that a character in a kids' show could possibly be a lesbian if she's not, like, shown fucking another mare onscreen 9_9 Some guys see it as insulting the character. Drives me nuts.

It sounds like your authors want to up the angst factor, either just for a more dramatic story, or because they identify with Braeburn and want to work out those feelings through h/c. Personally, given the drastic gender imbalance, I kind of figure that same sex pairs are the norm, with reproduction through some kind of pony magic.

BTW, I never thought of that pairing, but it's adorable. And the more I think about it, the less I can imagine Braeburn being in the closet about anything. He's just so happy! About stuff! He wants to show you around!

I don't know. In canon, she's kind of an Earth pony chauvinist (in the iron pony competition, assumes that 'playing fair' is playing like an Earth pony, whether or not that's been set out in the rules. seems to feel like Twilight's contaminated her farm when she uses magic in the Winter Wrap-up), and she's at least initially racist against zebras. I have a hard time believing that homophobia is very common in Equestria just because everyone in Equestria seems so, so gay to me, but I could definitely see Applejack harboring some unexamined prejudices.

start a kink meme? for what?

(Anonymous) 2012-11-22 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
...would that not just be xenophobia? Eastern Europeans are still white, no?

Re: bleeh sex problems

(Anonymous) 2012-11-22 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the first piece of advice I'd give you is to tell him, even if you're embarrassed. Sex should be fun. The concern shouldn't be about whether you're a wimp or not, just about whether you're having a good time.

I kind of think what you do with it matters more than what's causing it. So figure out some stuff that does feel good- making out, him rubbing your clit, grinding, whatever works for you. You're not going to get any less tense by making yourself do something you don't want to.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-22 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
If it doesn't make you cringe, it doesn't belong on the stream.
