Because all Americans have the same values.

More like Americans having these conversations expect their particular viewpoint to be the 'winning' one just because they're American.

Shhhh, non-Americans think Americans are just this one minded social justice blob except for when they point out people like Palin and Romney to make fun of them. But other than that, they believe Americans have no range of culture and are all identical across the land. Like Cybermen or the Borg.

I will never understand that. :/ I mean...the US is a big fucking country. How people can claim that everyone from the US is the same across the board (usually while claiming that the culture in Suffolk vs the culture in Essex is OMGsodifferent!) is beyond me.

These are usually the same people who get shocked when they comes across non-white, non-black Americans. Like a Korean American with a Nashville accent just blows their mind. Or they think all Americans only have surnames like Jones, Jackson and Smith. With the occasional Italian, Irish and Jewish name thrown in. Point to someone with a Russian or a Swedish surname and say that there are a tons of such names in the US, and again, minds are blown.

Not sure if deliberately ironic.

We don't give a fuck about your range of views, the problem is that whichever view you have, you think it's the only one that matters.

Yes, a lot of people from other countries think that. Just like a lot of Americans (or one in particular) think that all people from everywhere in the world should be offended by the word 'cunt' because in American culture, it's an offensive slur.
