I think I might be slightly mentally retarded. Maybe some sort of strong learning disability. The internet is making me notice my dumb.

I feel the same. I would like to think I have ADD since I have always had a hard time grasping onto what people say. Sometimes I'll hear what people say but the words don't register in my mind so I have to ask them to repeat it, especially when there are distracting things around. I also have some really intrusive thoughts.

I have ADD and you have perfectly described my brain. Medication helps. If you feel it's really having a negative impact on your life you should talk to a doctor (if you have the means). If I ever get health insurance the first thing I'm doing is running to the doctors and getting back on ADD meds.

Huh--my mind does that a lot, too. I always wondered why. My attention span slides when I'm reading, too, even though I'm really interested and trying.

Maybe when I'm finally eligible for that fancy Canadian healthcare, I'll have a look into it.
