Re: Random not-exactly-fandom not-exactly-secrets thread
I used to roll my eyes at people who read romance novels. Then I started reading the fills for the Harlequin challenges. Which is when an author takes a blurb off of the back of a Harlequin and rewrites it featuring a couple from one of their fandoms. I still think most romance novels are boring unreadable tripe but I get it a little better now.

I've been hooked since an SGA author suckered me into it in the original wave.

They're incredibly silly but somehow rich people with nice clothes socializing with each other takes my mind off whatever is actually going on in my life.
Re: Random not-exactly-fandom not-exactly-secrets thread
...and that Harlequin challenge sounds kind of compelling. Occasionally I get a weird urge to read a romance novel, I read one, I laugh at it, and not read one for another year or two.

I think he's really cute, if they helps. (-:

Re: Random not-exactly-fandom not-exactly-secrets thread
This is probably just me being weird about my identity again. I fantasize about getting plastic surgery to change my face all the time but when I try to decide what to get done my thought process is basically "Well not my nose because that's my nose. And not my chin because that's my chin," and so on until I run out of facial features. But I still like the idea of picking my own face out.
And I guess now I do that with my F!S account because I've had this icon for so long.
Re: Random not-exactly-fandom not-exactly-secrets thread
(Anonymous) 2012-11-22 03:26 am (UTC)(link)Anyway, it wouldn't be worth it to change your face. So many people leave plastic surgery disturbed at having different facial features (not to mention the people whose operations are messed up).
Re: Random not-exactly-fandom not-exactly-secrets thread
And don't worry anon, like I said, it's purely fantasy and even if I could choose a feature I'd never be able to justify, no matter what kind of mob lottery heist money I ended up with, dropping that kind of dough on what would be, for me, an essentially unecessary cosmetic surgery. I shall limit my goal of self-expression through body modification to tats and scarification. :)
Re: Random not-exactly-fandom not-exactly-secrets thread
I only change my icons once every few years. I did it last year and one of my friends emailed me all "DID YOU GET HACKED YOUR ICON IS DIFFERENT NOW, WTF, I'M USED TO TINY PIGTAIL SUPERGIRL"
It was pretty funny XD
