Me too.

I just had this mental picture of them hissing and trying to run away from holy water and cross shaped objects and anything to do with Christmas.

When I was in middle school I told my mother, with great anguish, that I wasn't sure I should celebrate Christmas with the family because I was deeply opposed to organized religion in general and Christianity in particular. She told me to just look on it as a family celebration, not a religious one. I caved immediately.

My dilemma this year is that I'd really like to do one of those buy-lesser-privileged-children-gifts things (like Angel Tree), but I really don't want those kids to have a Bible and some proselytizing forced on them along with their presents.

Do you have Toys for Tots drives where you are? It's secular. Done by the Marines.

And believe or not the Angel Tree doesn't make people literally pray for their gifts. The only personal thing they ask is when you sign up for program they want to see a birth certificate to make sure you have the children that you are requesting gifts for. (People without children have signed up in the past, received gifts and then turned around and sold them in places like ebay.)
