Yeah, and I think it worked with the Amazon Senshi because of all the balls and circular objects going on with their arc. The bubble sleeves on the rest of the girls? My least favorite part of the entire outfit.

It's like they were becoming progressively smoother, more organic. (The manga illustrations of Super Sailor Moon are some of my most favorite.) And then that all gets ditched for the stiff, clunky, bubble outfits? Ugh.

And speaking of the girl's outfits, have you seen Naoko's original illustrations for them? I think it was in the back of one of the original Tokyopop volumes. They're a bit cluttered and obviously some of her first work, but I rather like them as a starting point for more unique planet-centric outfits.
