Yeah. The story focused on Griffith for a while, then went back to Guts and friends and we're FINALLY inching closer to the actual Elf Island, but the problem is honestly the rate in which the chapters are released.

I dunno, I still hold up some hope for her, but goddamn, I'd even settle for some closure for her.

I just can't imagine what sort of closure that could be, though. Death?
Revenge?

(I'm out of the loop on what happened - except for the PS2 game trailer and wikipedia :p) Does Femto even exist anymore? and if so, is Femto ... revenge-able?)

It's not like Caska and Guts are going to be able to settle down in a little stone cottage and raise a passel of beautiful caramel-colored kids, either - just being around each other, the sight of each other, would be a reminder of the Eclipse. And if her memory of all that's happened since gets re-written, can she remain Caska?

Hmm, I don't remember if by the time Schierke appears the idea of taking Caska to Elf Island so that the elf king could heal her was already introduced, but that's been Gut's goal for a while. So either she does get healed (and then ideally she and Guts go take revenge on Griffith OR they have to part ways because they don't want to be around each other anymore) or at least she stays at the island and is safe.

The thing that gets me so much is that Gut's really misses the woman she was, and not in the sense that "she was my girlfriend" but more like "she was a strong woman who could be admired" and I just, waaaaaah

(I don't know if it's still fashionable to diss the first anime as "just an advertisement for the manga" but ... I still remember the scene in the cave where Guts is cleaning up an unconscious Caska, realizes that the blood on her thighs is from her period, and says, "It must be tough to be a woman." ~ It was at that precise moment that I fell.)
