Or to put it another way - I find n***** vastly more offensive and irritating than c*** (and I'm a white female, go figure, but then I grew up in a racist environment where it was used casually and often), and I cringe when I hear it used - even between black co-workers who use it to describe themselves or others. But the fact that I'm cringing hardly makes it my place to demand that they stop.
