Yeah, being privileged doesn't make you bad, honey. People can't help being privileged any more than they can help being unprivileged, the only difference being that no one who knows what they're talking about would actually want to be unprivileged instead. So, what, would you rather he go "hahaha suckers I'm privileged and you aren't nyahnyahnyahhh!"? Or do you want him to magically become unprivileged? I don't get it.

I don't actually know what he has said, but from what I can tell the gap between the privileged and unprivileged isn't as wide in the UK as it is in the USA (so yeah, assuming that all complainers are Americans, sorry).

I mean, I don't live in either country, but I know that the USA isn't exactly great to live in if you aren't well off. Things like having a national healthcare paid by taxes, and not having to pay to go to school and university are major factors in social mobility.

sort of a tangent, but if the reviews that go along the lines of "yeah, this is so true" for Rowling's "The Casual Vacancy" are anything to go by, the UK isn't that hot... :(
