I have conflicting feels about this. On the one had yeah there are aspects of his life that maybe gave him that extra boost compared to Joe Average. But he doesn't strike me as the type to deliberately rub it in the face of others and seems almost embarrassed sometimes. I had a pretty good education but am not doing my dream job yet but getting there slowly...I don't resent him for doing something he loves and seizing the ease of opportunity. BUT at the same time I can understand how annoying it can be when someone who has already made it preaches about working hard. When I was between jobs I sometimes got pretty bitter about it when people said that sort of stuff. But you know, keeping working at what I needed to work on did help me in the end.

I probably took this too seriously.

it's really all about choices. you DO have options, you are just choosing things that keep you tethered to the life you clearly aren't happy with. and some of us will do that our whole lives, but you can't be bitter that others chose a different path.

People can't help being privileged any more than they can help being unprivileged, the only difference being that no one who knows what they're talking about would actually want to be unprivileged instead. I think you're just jealous because deep in your heart you know that if YOU were in Tom's position you wouldn't be nearly as nice as he is. Some celebrities take advantage of their wealth and fame to act like total douchebags and get away with it, but Tom isn't like that.
