I went away to have a baby, and when I came back Bendict Cumberbatch had apparently turned into Tom Hiddlestone.

What really made me laugh about this was how seamlessly my fandom experience moved from "Urgh Benedict Cumberbatch is so fugly, look at his weird eyes/cheekbones/tentacles" to "Urgh Tom Hiddleston is so weird, look at his fugliness."

Please note I'm not accusing this secret of saving that, this one seems quite balanced for the genre, but as a general trend it is amusing.
