I just like them as friends but if you want to ship it that's fine as long as you age her up a bit.

Heck, technically, neither of them are children, she just looks like one. A fic exploring the fact they love each other but have issues because of her visual age would be interesting as long as there isn't any sex in it.

Actually, the real robbing the cradle thing is Felix/Calhoun. He's thirty years old. She's a week. But I will admit to shipping that due to the fact she's mentally an adult despite her age.

All I was saying is that she's lived long enough to maybe be more of an adult now than she puts on. So, like, maybe her programming makes her act young, but mentally she's progressed?

I don't know. I'm bullshitting here but I'm saying a fic that took the time to explore all of it might be an interesting read even if I don't ship it.

The mental aspect of relationships is the ONLY part of it that actually matters--why do you think sex and dating minors is inherently wrong? Because s/he's young? Can you provide any other reason that is not tied to the mental aspect?

The fact that Calhoun is mentally an adult, and Vanellope is mentally a child is the most important factor--physical appearance is pretty important too, but dating an adult who was mentally 5 is pretty messed up.

Wow, you're sure assuming a lot. Like, pretty much everything you're saying is stuff I know, which is why I don't ship it and do ship Felix/Calhoun. But you must have ignored the part of my post where I say I don't ship it and the conversation I had with the other anon. I agree that mental maturity is the most important part and I think you're being a huge ass by implying I'm an idiot for thinking that a body's age plays a roll.

The reason I mentioned the mental thing with Vanellope was because I was imagining a hypothetical situation explored in a fic where Vanellope was mentally older but her body was still young. I think that would still pose a problem for people and be squicky because she still looks nine years old. If you're saying in this situation that her physical body would have no effect on their relationship I think we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I don't know that aging her up is really necessary. Age is a pretty unclear concept for video game characters. All that's clear is that it's different for them than it is for us. Vanellope is exuberant and impulsive, but I don't think that has to mean she's the equivalent of a human child.

Hmmm, physically I think you would have to age her up. Otherwise you would have to write in depth about those complications. (Which was actually the fic idea I was talking about. I think it could be interesting if done well.)

Mentally, that depends on how you see Vanellope. Is she a childish adult or is she really a child? If you see her as a childish adult you would have to establish that in your fic. If you see her as a child then I do believe you would have to age her up mentally.
