12. I need to read Twilight one of these days since it's the "hottest piece of reading" out there apparently. ANY WARNINGS BEFORE I GO OUT AND BUY THIS BOOK?

15. Loveless rules. And it's all fiction anyway.

17. Lulz she'd probably say something like, "KT was being pressured by all the dumb Orihime fans and he probably felt bad for her since she ISN'T the female heroine of the story but you can tell Ichigo regrets letting Rukia slip away... BLAH BLAH BLAH HAY GUYZ I'M IN KT'S HEAD."

But I'd love it if Rukia/Orihime became canon. Stupid shippers, stop making the girls seems as if they hate each other. They're like sisters. ♥ Mad hot sisters. ♥

18. What is that?

19. ♥

20. I loved Cowboy Bebop but I didn't finish the entire series. ;~;

21. Your mom is a hottie?

Is it truly that bad? I read some excerpts and they were kind of boring but I can't really judge on those alone.

I think it's Twilight, and if it is, I agree like fuck- except for the whole 'liking it anyways' thing.

Re: 18

[identity profile] halevy.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Weird. But it's so popular despite me having read so many bad reviews.

Re: 18

[identity profile] bedlam14.livejournal.com 2007-08-18 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It's popular initially, I think, because it has a really strong start and an interesting main character. However, like the above poster mentioned, it swiftly dissolves into terrible sueness- for example (these aren't terrible spoilers, but they are spoilers nonetheless), the protagonist's main love interest ends up having initially fled from her and being so offputting because she's, basically, his lifemate or whatever the popular term is nowadays. And he angsts about drinking blood and being a vampire and stuff. What else.... Oh, well, aside from the general cliches, etc., there's some really creepy stuff like the main character ignoring and losing total 100% touch with all her friends once she gets into a relationship.
So.... yeah. It starts out really impressively, and, sadly, Sues sell in the 'vampire' genre.
OH YEAH and I forgot- at the end, it seems like the writer just gave up trying NOT to be Sueish and... well, I can't ruin it for you, since you mentioned you have interest in the book, but. Well. It made me cringe.

I'd take the popularity with a grain of salt. Eragon is popular too, remember?

But I haven't read the books, so I wouldn't know specifically. (I'm not about to, though--I AM SO SICK OF VAMPIRES. A;SLDKFJ FUCKING ANNE RICE. DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR A CHANGE AND MAYBE I'LL BE INTERESTED A;SLDKFJA;SLDKFJ sorry.)

12. Joining the camp of "Do not even bother"; it's so bad it hurts.

20. You should. XD

But this really tempts me to read. XD It must be lol worthy.

Well, if you put it that way... XD

A slightly positive review?

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
12. I thought it was OK. It's not the best thing ever and the main character was sort of ridiculous in the second book, but I liked it enough to actually buy the third book.

If you want, I can upload ebook versions of the first two so you don't at least waste your money if you end up not liking.

It's more well-written then most vampire shit, actually. It's very character-centric, so there's not much action.

My complaint is that the plot is the SAME. DAMN. THING. in all three books. I am not fucking kidding you. If you end up not caring about Edward and Bella and their dysfunctional relationship, don't continue reading. There's nothing else there for you.

Since I'm a sucker for romance and drama, I ended up liking the book, but... eh, I'm not surprised everyone else hates it.

Lol I feel soooo dumb for saying this but EBOOK? Wow. This world amazes me with its never ending technology. (What the hell I'm not even 18--)

Would it be too much trouble? I'll probably end up reading the entire series, no matter what I think of it because I don't want to just judge something I haven't finished.

Thanks so much in advance~ ♥

HAHAHAH well... it's a text file. I dunno why I wrote "ebook". XD; Someone actually typed up the two books or something. >>;

But yeah, here ya go! The third one is Eclipse, but since it just came out... But yeah, I guess if you like the first two you won't have a problem with buying the third.

Twilight (http://www.sendspace.com/file/kt791p)
New Moon (http://www.sendspace.com/file/e7co2p)

I'm such a hardcore pirate, I don't even buy BOOKS anymore. >:[ *thrown in jail for copyright violation lulz*

Wow, lots of time on their hands.

Thank you! I want to see what the hype is about. I mean, all I ever hear is the rave for how hot so and so is or the rant that Stephanie Meyer can't write to save her life.

I always buy books. XD *nerd* Made my eyes go bad lol. And it doesn't help I buy so much manga these days with the tiny print and I don't wear my glasses.

*takes a deep breath* HERE I GO. *shield and sword ready*

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-08-19 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I tried to fix the typos and such, but I'm sure I missed a few things. ^^;

eh, she's not a professional writer anyway. She's a stay at home and only started writing because she had a dream about the two main characters. I'm surprised the book is as popular as it is, but I think it's pretty good considering it's origins.

I think what I really like is the unconventional take on vampires and werewolves. I don't read many vampire books, but I never heard of the ideas she came up to explain why vampires don't like sunlight, etc. and I like how it works when you think about it. XD; But yeah, GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED.

Yeah, I thought they were all right too! Not highbrow fiction by any means, but hey, it's a young adult title. I wasn't expecting poetry.

[identity profile] lucid-passion.livejournal.com 2007-08-22 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
I believe that twilight is an amazing book, and I'm not easily amused.

that is, if you like non-so-stereotypical vampires and romance.
