Nice to know another VNV Nation fan. There are not many VNV Nation songs put to AMV's, but I will self-pimp and mention the one that I did with Saviour to Berserk, so it can work well.

To me, the thought of a female Watson is still an intriguing idea. But Doyle's Watson as portrayed in A Study in Scarlet, a wounded veteran who is kind of caught between being haunted by previous experiences yet missing the adrenaline fix and purpose that life gave him/her, lacking any family or friends and being kind of aimless until a friendship with another oddball loner gives him/her purpose. Taking a character like that, who is strong yet vulnerable and has a background in medicine and the military, and making it a woman would be interesting and even kind of revolutionary for TV. That's what's most disappointing about Lucy Liu's Joan Watson, IMO, is because they took away all that potential and instead just replaced it with a cliched backstory that I feel has been done dozens of times on shows like Grey's Anatomy (female doctor who gets overwhelmed by the emotional toll of being a doctor and can't hack it, doesn't want to shame her parents, still wonders if that nice boyfriend she dumped was for her, etc.).

And probably because she's a woman, but they've made her Watson more a scold/babysitter and not an equal. I want my Holmes and Watson to be FRIENDS and like each other. She reminds me most of Sharona on Monk rather than a true Watson. Or like a later season version of Wilson when he became a big nag/scold all the time (now that they're making Miller's Holmes more like House).

That was pretty much my feeling about the finale. But Megatron/Starscream is my OTP so the squeeing narrowly won out in the end.

Yeah, that quick smile they both gave each other? That was actually pretty heartwarming. :3 And I say that as not-a-shipper of Megs/Screamer. (I ship Screamer with OP, actually. XD)

And I've never understood OP/SS, in any continuity (okay, maybe Armada, but that's because Starscream's very different -- and I don't know enough about it to have an opinion, really.)

I can't imagine that happening unless Starscream is manipulating or otherwise deceiving OP for the fun of putting one over on him. Starscream is bad to the core, IMO. (And I love him for that.)

All this is not to dis anyone for shipping it, least of all you. It's just to say that that ship makes enormous question marks appear above my head, at which point I shove Starscream in Megatron's general direction again :-)

And oooh, yes, Starscream is an incorrigible, horrible bot that's rotten to his very spark. >:3 Don't most of us Starscream fans love him for that? He may pull off a mean puppy dog expression, but he's no peach.

That enormous question mark gives me a certain amount of glee, I must admit. XD I admit I'm mostly in it for both the rarity of the pairing and to see how writers can make it happen.

I do have some pairings for TFP that make slightly more sense. I'm fairly typical, canon-wise. Knock Out and Breakdown(wrrrry), Optimus and Ratchet, Arcee and Smokescreen/Cliffjumper. But OP/SS is my guilty makes-no-sense pleasure. I ship Screamer him with the eradicon he smacks, too.

That's how I feel, but there were a few people post-DH who were all talking about how Starscream going back was some kind of like... battered-wife thing, and how they were really upset with the excited shippers. It got kind of ugly and some kind of sketchy things were said to me, actually. so I know some people strongly feel that SS is just really downtrodden. I don't get it because I think he's a giant dickhead. :-)

Awesome dickhead, but... dickhead nonetheless.
