Entitled? Not precisely. Very confident in your own abilities. Not being familiar with your work, the original material, or fanworks in general in this fandom, I can't judge how accurate your assessment is.

You definitely sound like a dick. I can't judge you completely, because I sometimes play around in fandoms whose original material I don't think very highly of, either. However, my explanation for my actions is, "I don't really care for the source [optional politely phrased reasons], but I think the [premise/characters/setting] have a lot of great potential, so I like to play in the sandbox."
