Saying you're an arrogant dick doesn't mean that someone thinks the sun shines out the author's ass. Liking the actual canon better than your head canon doesn't mean that either. However, ranting about how you basically hate everything in a fandom *except* your headcanons? Means that you should probably get the fuck out of that fandom and do your own original work [even if you have no intention of publishing it/letting other's see it].

Trust me, you wouldn't be missed and you'd probably be a lot happier.

Except (1) I have no motivation to create my own comic and (2) I don't see why I should get out of fandom just because I hate it? I like my ideas. Being in fandom lets me explore those ideas.

You don't have to be in a fandom to explore ideas, and if you hate everything else about a fandom including the canon, there's no point in staying.
