I'm not white, and I wouldn't mind SJWs that much if they weren't all so rude. From what I've seen, their default tone is pretty condescending and harsh. If someone says something offensive, in their first response, they'll be so rude. If the person's a dick, yeah, go ahead and be mean, but I think it should take you a while to work up to the rudeness. If you're a dick right from the beginning, then the OP is just going to be a dick right back.

This is basically my fundamental problem with SJWs. Immediately biting someone's head off for poor use of language is not at all productive, and tends to make people very defensive and more inclined to use that kind of language.

A polite "hey, btw..." goes a lot further than "OMG CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE!". Save that for the people who make it clear that they think there's nothing wrong without their inappropriate behaviour.

They're that way because they believe that telling them to be friendlier is "using the tone argument."

"Don't use the tone argument" is a reasonable idea -- that sometimes, people will be strident about demanding their rights, and that this making others uncomfortable does not by itself mean the strident people are wrong.

But it's been warped and twisted to mean "I can be as strident as I want regardless of whether I'm making sense and you're just privileged and wrong if you don't kowtow to me."

I'm fine with occasional "I believe this is a serious, important matter, and how my people are treated makes me fucking MAD so I'm not gonna be civil rn... *rant*."

I'm not fine with "anything you might have said that made any sense is completely invalidated by your use of the word 'bitch.' I don't have to prove my points to people who use gendered language!" and the like.
