I couldn't get in on the fun but I'm willing to vouch for it. Pretty sure agentcthulhu and biohazardgirl aren't seen as trolling trollers here and they're always telling me about how much fun they have on it.

He was a Ravenclaw, not a Gryffindor. Unless you're just referring to him not being a Slytherin.

Personally I think the most terrible non-Slytherin character in the books was Pettigrew. Backstabbing rodent...

I'm a troll? How novel. *twiddles tentacles*

Someone on my dash reblogged a quote from one of her books and I didn't know it was from her when I first read it. My first thought was, 'This reads like bad fanfic' and then lo and behold, when I scrolled further down, it was Cassandra Clare.

/CSB

Also, as a writer attempting to build an audience/get published, the fact that she's been published and got movie deals after all that bullshit she pulled with the plagiarism (and apparently she's still being nasty to people involved in the wank even now?) makes me furious.

I'm not sure if this makes me gullible, a n00b, or both, but...Doctor Who, The Pandorica Opens: "Ready for what?" "READY-FOR-YOU."

anon I could have told you those shows were shallow and terrible

Ohh, just you wait until you get the rest of the endings, especially the true one. I'm playing VLR (999's sequel) right now and I hope the twists are just as juicy. :)

*chuckles darkly* I think you can gauge how much of a taboo this still is by how many of the responses are anon. But don't feel bad, op. Bestiality is fascinating and hot. It was one of my very earliest kinks, and I got into reading about sex when I was extremely underage, so I can't even chalk it up to being a perverted adult. I wish you'd post what you did for research, because a lot of the things I came up with challenged what I'd expected to find ... and I think this would be true for other fans also.

I think I'm going to go read that story you recced. And by the way, you can kudos while not logged in, if you can't stand the thought of anyone knowing you read it yet. You're not going to hell, anon. You just took a big step into the deep end.

Oh, that reminds me, the Disney kink meme on LJ has a couple of nice Rajah the tiger/Princess Jasmine fics. And decyphered, here on DW, did a dog-human hybrid fic that you might like. I don't have other recs, because it's not ... it's been years since I explored that. But I wish you all the best.

AYRT Oh I hadn't seen that they were in on it as well! I must just not pay enough attention to it. Thanks for vouching!

AYRT I did not know you enjoyed the shit stream! I guess I just never paid much attention to it, thinking it was just the trolls. Silly me.

I think the only real troll in it is Insanenoodlyguy. The rest of us just like mocking terrible movies and shitty porn.

Other people who frequent it: Ooo_MrDarcy, Cloud_Riven, Fingalsanteater, Nursejoy, Making_Excuses (I think?), Biohazard, Agent C, and a couple of others who I'm blanking on right now.

It's actually pretty fun. (And I'm not a troll with unanon. Am I?)

Well, I've just been paging through the archive for like a week now and clicking on almost everything (on page 600 something of 702), so I don't think that would be helpful. LOL I will page backwards again; I have to have overlooked it.

(Anonymous) 2012-11-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Are you me, anon?

I'm comforting myself with the knowledge that she's already gotten her pound of flesh off the licensing, so buying a ticket to see it in the theater (which I definitely am going to do) is just voting with my dollar for "More of this Constantine-ripoff awesomeness business!" and not a vow of undying literary love with The Claire.

They're this blogger who was big on Tumblr for a while. They had this... ultra-Christian sort of shtick? Like, their background is Jesus's face on toast, they'd reply 'God bless you' to pretty much everything, and they replied to text post jokes with totally literal answers, stuff like that. I never really paid much attention to them, but last I heard they'd mostly dropped that personality, though.

I'm a Slytherin on Pottermore too, OP. I don't think we're evil. The only negative thing I can say about most of the people I know well who are Slytherins is we're slightly more prone to drama in our histories.

But even then? There were good Slytherins in canon too. People bring out Snape ad nauseum, but I like to think of Regulus Black, who as soon as he realized what sort of person Voldemort was stole one of his Horcruxes and gave it to his house elf to be destroyed, then sacrificing himself instead of making Kreacher sacrifice himself. I'm not sure how anyone could read DH and miss that.

The Malfoys aren't great people, but there wasn't a damn thing they cared about in the last battle except finding their son, and Narcissa's lie is how Harry was able to do anything at all after reviving instead of being AKed again.

I mean. I identify with Ravenclaw more personally, but I don't see anything wrong with being sorted Slytherin on Pottermore.

I'd expect no less from someone whose username clearly advocates genocide.

You are definitely not alone. It's pretty much the only way I can tell when my period is coming. They are completely random, so when I start getting wildly horny and/or depressed I know what's up. I'm not really a sexual person normally, so it's a pretty noticeable difference for me.

Regulus Black. Three.

...Three isn't much better, but I like to include him. And I tend to give Narcissa Malfoy a pass too, since her actions have much less to do with helping Voldemort than keeping her son safe.

Nah, not channeling classic Who, but definitely very different from RTD too.

Personally, catching all the glaring differences between the Doctor's different incarnations is one of my favorite things about the show and I kinda fangirl in glee when my attention is really sharply brought to them, but I guess I'm not everyone...

I totally had no handle on Matt Smith's Doctor until the first couple episodes of series 6. Then something clicked--it's all focused inward. Tennant is very stagey, capable of radiating emotion to the very back of a theatre. (And that's not an insult; I love Ten's stupid maladjusted face and I will happily eat Tennant's acting up with a spoon. Different acting styles is what I'm saying.) Eleven squashes all his pain and self-loathing down and lets himself be silly and acts like some bizarre cross between a petulant seven-year-old and a drunken giraffe so that he doesn't hang himself. He's terribly, terribly conscious that he keeps letting people down, so he does his best to hide his pain and make it about them, not him. Tennant is so very expressive that it takes a while to shift gears and read Matt Smith's acting properly, but after that one "aha!" moment it was all there for me--in his eyes, in the things he doesn't say, in the wibbly trying-not-to-cry faces he makes when he thinks nobody's looking.
