See, I think I could like Eleven. I like Smith, I even think he's cute. I like his quirky/childlike/whimsical approach to things.

But I have the same feeling about emotional impact. I'm not feeling it.

It's just that I attribute it more to writing than to acting, but maybe that's me.

There are some scenes in there that have huge potential for emotional impact. Like, his whole relationship with River, which is basically tragic. The first time Rory dies. The episode about faith, where they're trapped in the Minotaur's labyrinth. The one with Old Amy being left behind.

I mean seriously, these things had potential to be written in a way to move you to tears. But...they always fell flat. And I don't think it's the actors - certainly not entirely. I feel hat emotion and conflict is not handled in a good way. And it was during RTD run, for the most part.

Hell, even the episode about dinosaurs on a spaceships felt sort of "meh" to me. And I think that's because they figure the concept is so cool and will make for a magical episode, that they actually don't bother writing it so well anymore.

/end rant

I think RTD kept a much closer link to Classic Who.

Yes, agreed.

Re: Time of the month...

Me too, with the random periods! I can usually count on two things to tell me when my period is coming up: 1. I'm really horny. 2. I'm either really productive/creative OR I'm the exact opposite of that and can't even muster up the will to watch things I know I want to watch.

Sometimes, I can add a dash of either extreme irritability or sudden despair over the life that the rest of the time I'm generally pretty happy with how it turned out.

Forehead kissing and pressing! I think I just like when personal space is allowed to be entered enough for even casual facial contact.

And hand-holding or arm-locking while walking or running.

And when people fold there hands to rest their face or chin on them.

I can't wait! And I hope you enjoy VLR. If I finish 999 fast enough maybe I'll make that my Christmas present, haha.

If I had to compare Eleven with another Doctor, I'd say he's most like Two. But the rest of the show doesn't ping me as particularly Classic Who.

Personally, I headcanon that each incarnation's personality is a subconscious reaction to the last one:

One? Geeze, I really wish I had the youth and energy to rant properly about all the stuff that pisses me off.

Two? FUCK ALL OF YOU. HDU. I'm gonna kick all your asses and do it twice as dashingly as you ever could! So there!

Three? Being laidback is getting so damn boring. I think I should try being loopy and not giving a fuck for a bit.

Four? Okay, so, I wonder what it'd be like to be chill and sane and not be loopy all the time?

Five? Being nice is too painful and all I do is worry all day long, lemme be a confident dick for a while.

Six? Okay, so, being a confident dick is getting me into a bunch of scrapes. I need to remember how to think.

Seven? Gah, all this planning and manipulating is exhausting. I need to have FUN.

Eight? HELP HELP MY POOR BRAIN I'm so fucking traumatized I'm in constant psychological agony and I'm too excitable to deal with it. I need to be tough and brooding.

Nine? Okay I'm obviously too tired for this shit. I need to remember what PASSION is!

Ten? Oh god MY EMOOOOOTIONS they're over 9000 I think I might go evil again if something like this happens to me again can I just calm down and figure out how to keep sight of all the little things...

Interesting. I almost always read that sort of thing as the full words.

AYRT

So funny you mention Ace and Remembrance of the Daleks! I just picked this up at the Library on a whim because I'd heard of how awesome Ace was and even though we've only watched Part 1, it has not disappointed!

I'm not quite sure, but wasn't the limit originally Timelord-imposed? If so, it's sort of moot if the Timelords are in limbo.

...Because the animals/spider pics are sometimes related (e.g., both having stripes), I tend to look for the relationship automatically. And, many years ago, one of my favorite stuffed toys as a kid was a rabbit that came with crayons, dressed in painters' overalls. And this pair-up immediately made SO MUCH SENSE.

(thank you as usual!)

I agree with the cooperative versus competitive part. I've played my far share of competitive games but my favorites are always non-competitive. The online experience for a females in certain gaming communities can be quite discouraging IMO.

I also believe it's because some females are a lot less likely to get into games that are obviously pandering to the male players. I know I'm less likely to get into a game if it has shoehorned love interests, flawed female leads, typical macho bullshit, or anything like that.

On the other hand I really liked P4 so....yeah (harem and tons of sexism). Idek.

Gdocs/gdrive. You can upload any kind of stuff there, not just documents, and it's private to your account. There's a size limit, and it's a lot slower than an external hard drive, though.

Head or hand on shoulder, or arm around the shoulders. D'aww.

Also, one character carrying another carefully, no matter how exactly they do it.

Wait, Valo/Ylönen is a thing? Huh. I'd watch the original video to Bittersweet to see if there's anything slashy about it, but the damn thing seems to have vanished from Youtube.

Also, I though that VD was popular amongst the fans. Wasn't Dark Light the one that people didn't like?

Dropbox has a limited space, but you can definitely fork over some money for extra space. Although with cloud storage, unless you have unlimited bandwidth, it's not worth it to do it all in one go. In my opinion anyways.

Recommending external hard drives.

Though it was true that a large portion of women play sims and facebook games. They're not the same as console games. It's not the same "fandoms" not the same gameplay. It doesn't satisfy the same urges. It's like saying apples are oranges because they're both fruit.

See, I've found Eleven to be more like Four in my mind. That's why I like him so much.

Omg it's sooo good read it asap.

That would be the coffin ending! Heh.

I totally used a guide for the puzzles/which doors to choose for which endings. You don't actually have to get all the endings to get the real one, but you do miss out on the story when you skip (as well as some hilarious moments).

Maybe it's because "The Doctor's Wife" was the first Eleven-era episode I ever saw, but I latched on pretty much in the first ten minutes of the episode and just yes yes you absolutely nailed everything I adore about Eleven and the way he's so fascinatingly different from Ten -- neither better nor worse, IMO -- but different in such an interesting way that makes so much sense.

It's the same with Nine and Ten, except Nine didn't get a long enough run IMO (yes I'm still bitter about that) so there's less material to compare.
