I still haven't watched 7x03 or 7x04,

I watched some of them. I watched the series premier, the one with Rupert Graves, and the mid-series finale. I only liked the Rupert Graves one but I think that's more because Rupert Graves than anything about the actual episode.

If it helps any, as far as the Doctor goes 7x03 could almost be a s4 Ten episode.

7x04... yeah, I got nothin', it's basically a last hurrah for the Ponds so not much point if you're not a fan of them.

And even then it's a bit iffy in terms of last hurrahs. The first half is nice in terms of Amy and 11 actually talking about themselves for once, but the plot's rather muddled in the second half and at the climax, Amy and Rory skedaddle off screen with Brian while the Doctor blows up the bad guy and several unconscious humans with him.

Seconding the recommendation for 7x03. It's actually a rather good character introspection episode for the Doctor, and for once 11 doesn't do his "wave the sonic screwdriver and everything's magically okay" thing. There's definitely some s4 Ten vibes, and even a bit of s1 Nine in terms of being haunted by the Time War.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised, having gone in expecting a bad Western parody (cyborg gunslinger? really?) and having come out with one of the best Doctor character development episodes in all of Moffat-era who IMHO.
