Avatars: So This is How It Ends is a YA book where plot is that a group of children a transported into the future and find out that everyone just...stopped being able to have kids. The main plot isn't exactly what you describe (the focus is more on how these kids survive+a mythology plotline) but there's some really cool scenes in it relating to how the people dealt with suddenly no longer being able to have children. I'm pretty sure it's a series, but I only ever read book one.(I read this years ago, so I'm not sure how it holds up now, but I loved it at the time.)
