No running gag, in fact this is an extremely rare kink, there being only three fics about it in the fandom afaik.

The thing about doing research re: RL bestiality (which is basically reading what RL bestiality entails, what precautions need to be taken, what can go wrong, et cetera) is, well, that real people are actually doing it. Yes, there's a lot of bullshit and fantasy in the net. But then there are the ones who take it seriously, and there is an entire subculture around it.

And that's what bothers me, OP. The fact that you seem to condone (almost idolize) the actual practice of bestiality. The "bullshit and fantasy" that you can find online isn't hurting anyone, but that subculture you're talking about, the ones who "take it seriously"? They are.

I know you say further down that you won't try it because you're asexual, but frankly, that shouldn't be your reason! The fact that bestiality severely hurts animals (who can't ever consent) -- perhaps even ruins them to the point of having to put them down -- should.

Furthermore, even if you don't do the actual act yourself, doesn't mean you can't participate. If you found such pleasure to be had in fics, what's to say you won't take it a step further and try to experience it in RL? It sounds to me like you're one step away from facilitating it somehow, what with talking about how you know someone in RL who rapes animals (not gonna sugarcoat it).

I am anti beastiality and cannot imagine reading a story about that for any reason myself but are you really holding this anon accountable for what someone who practices their kink irl might do? that's completely unreasonable. fiction is not reality.

The anon read a fic and learned a little about bestiality on the internet. They're under no more obligation to prove to us that they can tell the difference between fantasy and reality than an anon who expressed an interest in any other kink. Suggesting otherwise amounts to harassment. Insinuating that they might molest animals in the future because they aren't appropriately horrified at the idea of real people having sex with animals definitely amounts to harassment. Cut it out.
