Oh my god haha, the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title was 999. The ending.... Zero's identity.... hot damn were those satisfying twists. I'm playing VLR right now and I am really digging it, but 999 is a thousand times better in my opinion and nothing rivals the emotional impact of the true ending.

Other than 999, I'd have to say Ace Attorney had some pretty amazing plot twists. I can't even pick one, they were all just amazing. Ever 17 also had some good ending twists. Shizuru's betrayal in Mai-Hime is another favorite twist-- I am a major sucker for dramatic and shocking betrayals.

I think the series that takes the cake for extremely satisfying plot twists would have to be Mawaru Penguindrum, though.
